Advanced Practice Provider Lawrence, Kansas


Urology is specialized care for people living with urinary or pelvic health issues, as well as men’s health concerns. The advance practice provider works autonomously as well as in collaboration with physicians and other members of the health care team to diagnose and manage a patient’s health care problems. The advance practice provider will support patients in the clinic setting.

Hours: Position is 1.0 FTE, Team is staffed M-F 8-5p (hours will vary), No call/major holidays/weekends

Essential Job Responsibilities

  1. Perform complete history and physical examination and documentation
  2. Utilize assessment data to plan and implement a plan of care in accordance with patient’s goals of care. Services include, but are not limited to, ordering, conducting and interpreting appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, prescription of pharmacological agents and treatments and non-pharmacological therapies
  3. Skilled in communication with patients, families, and other team members
  1. Able to work effectively within a diverse community, with a wide range of religious and cultural beliefs
  2. Capable of working collaboratively with clinicians and other members of interdisciplinary team
  3. Knowledgeable about current best practices in the field of hospice & palliative medicine
  4. Proficient in complex symptom management for serious illness
  5. Dedicated to improving the care of seriously ill patients and their families
  6. The care delivered will be based on theoretical principles and scientific knowledge and within the scope of the Kansas Nurse Practice Act


  • Graduate of an accredited training program for Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners
  • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers
  • Two years clinical experience


  • Prior experience in Hospice/Palliative Care
  • Advanced certification in Hospice/Palliative Care
