The Director of Case Management has overall responsibility for case management, social work and documentation improvement services, including compliance with all federal and other regulatory legislation including CMS rules and regulations related to inpatient stays.  Supervises staff that monitors hospital stay to insure that acuity of service and length of stay are appropriate, in addition to oversight of discharge planning process.  Also oversees the Document Improvement program and staff and works collaboratively with HIM staff and medical staff toward these goals.  Provides guidance and direction to the staff of case managers, social workers and documentation improvement specialist in pursuit of these goals.  Manages the utilization review committee for the medical Staff and oversees the Physician Performance Feedback Program including: periodic reports to Administration of hospital on length of stay and financial outcomes of length of stay.  Responsible for all hiring, disciplinary process, orientation and termination of employees.

  • Work collaboratively and cooperate with other departments/units
  • Supervises staff that monitor hospital stay to insure that acuity of service and length of stay are appropriate, in addition to oversight of discharge planning process, and documentation improvement process and reporting.




  • Current Kansas Registered Nurse license
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing
  • 5 years’ experience in critical care background or strong Med/Surg experience
  • 5 years’ experience in Care Coordination with 2 years minimum in management of licensed staff preferably in a managed care or hospital case management/social work department
  • Knowledge of CMS regulations


  • Master’s degree in related field
