  •  The LMH Health Foundation internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in fundraising and communications.
  • Interns will engage with the LMH Health’s VP of strategic communications, the foundation’s executive director and communications coordinator, as well as the LMH Health’s director of marketing and communications, to craft stories and news releases that show the impact of philanthropic support and encourage future gifts.
  • The foundation provides more than $3 million of private support to LMH Health, the area’s largest safety net provider committed to caring for all. Gifts ensure an exceptional standard of care, regardless of ability to pay. 
  •  LMH Health, a non-profit community hospital with 17 clinics across the area, provides more than $25 million in charitable care and financial assistance each year to community member in need.

I. JOB SUMMARY

The Intern will interface daily with customers of the team and on behalf of LMH. Responsible for a variety of team support duties, this position will be able to assist with major projects, as well as day-to-day customer inquiries. As a member of the team, the Intern must have a high regard for customer service and integrity. This position will provide support by assisting with transactional functions and clerical duties.

II. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Provides high quality, first line information and support to customers to assist the department staff.
  2. Participates in the investigation, preparation and solution presentation of various projects.
  3. Recognizes trends and recommends suggestions to aid in process improvement for the department and organization.
  4. Maintains and insures confidentiality of sensitive information
  5. Responsible for other duties as needed or assigned.
III. JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
  • Excellent story-telling and written communications skills
  • Professional demeanor suitable for representing the foundation with donors and community partners
  • Ability to maintain a set schedule and work within deadlines
  • Collaborative, collegial approach and an openness to feedback and direction
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Enrolled in an appropriate degree program
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite; and database management
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work well with a diverse group of individuals
Preferred: 
  • Graphic design ability 
  • Experience in social media
  • Photography skills
