Role: 

The Solutions Engineer is responsible for managing complex enterprise software implementations including: ETL processes; customizing SQL scripts, explaining how our software manages and manipulates data with in various systems; explaining our server and cloud architecture and performance requirements; product training and system configurations

You will be the primary technical contact for the duration of the implementation projects and contribute to the overall project success and customer satisfaction.

This role requires: knowledge of and experience with legal time and billings systems, document management systems and information barrier software; exceptional communication skills; professional services or consulting experience; and, strong SQL scripting experience.

This role needs to be highly knowledgeable of our applications’ features, functions, and technical architecture while also understanding how the applications support a law firm’s practice and business processes.

This role may also assist in QA testing of new and enhanced features and functionality and provide operational and usability feedback to the development team.

The role requires that technical skills and law firm line-of-business applications knowledge be kept up-to-date. This role must also to contribute to ongoing learning, training, and process improvement initiatives within the Litera Services team.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Translate business requirements into functional use
  • Collaborate and or act as business analysts and project managers to define scope and goals, track milestones, delegate priorities, and report regularly to senior management
  • Ensure data integrity and quality in database systems
  • Conveys customer feedback to product development staff
  • Develops and delivers hands on technical training & documentation for clients
  • Develop database functions, scripts, stored procedures and triggers to support application implementation and data analysis
  • Provide technical assistance to resolve all database and application issues related to performance, capacity and access
  • Promotes and maintains a high quality, professional, service-oriented company image among users
  • Remain flexible with duties and shift hours to cover times as may be required by our clients
  • Perform additional tasks when required by Litera Management to directly support Litera goals and objectives

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2-4+ yrs experience in a technology-oriented company or functional role
  • Product/software implementation experience in legal is a highly preferred
  • Proficiency in back end tools:
    • SQL Server databases
    • Knowledge of DMS (iManage or NetDocs)
    • Knowledge of MS Teams a plus
    • Working knowledge of Active Directory
    • Working with Data warehousing and ETL
    • Cloud applications such as MS Azure and AWS
  • Strong understanding of the data ecosystem: relational databases, data warehouses, ETL, data integrity, and the flow of data within an enterprise architecture
  • Excellent understanding of data security best practices
  • Experience with legal line-of-business systems and processes (e.g., time and billing, document management, contact management, risk management) highly desirable
  • Familiarity with information architecture and governance in the legal space
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must; this position involves a significant amount of direct customer interaction
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills; candidates must be detail-oriented
  • Results oriented, resourceful, comfortable working under tight deadlines with a demanding set of internal and external customers
  • Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to multi-task
  • Excellent PC skills including MS Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of and experience with development tools
  • Account management, customer service, and/or project management experience a plus
