The Opportunity: 

A Manager, Human Resources at Litera is about making a direct impact within the company. The primary responsibility will be to act as a key resource for UK employment laws and regulations, employee data management and integrity, and supporting HR operational matters regarding the employee life cycle such as benefits, payroll, on-boarding, transfers, and off-boarding. This role will have an opportunity to work closely with the VP, Human Resources and collaborate among senior and mid-level management globally.

A Day in the Life: 

  • Oversee the human resource function in the UK
  • Work closely with VP, Human Resources and Manager, HR Business Partners to drive employee engagement efforts.
  • Manage and administer the international payroll processes (EMEA)
  • Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees.
  • Support HR Business Partners in dealing with complex disciplinary/grievance and employee relations issues alongside Manager, HR Business Partners, using HR and company knowledge to reach appropriate decisions.
  • Handles/resolves sensitive and advanced employee relations issues with the help of the VP, Human Resources
  • Maintains compliance with local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
  • Administers various human resource strategies and procedures for all organization personnel
  • Partners with the Recruiting function as needed; mainly consisting of recruiting coordination and onboarding new employees.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.

Role progression: 

Within 1 month, you will:

  • Complete new hire onboarding process including eLearning courses, instructor led training, peer shadowing, and more
  • Meet your peers, supporting teams and learn the nuts and bolts of our business, and where we’re going.
  • Familiarize yourself with our internal systems by working closely with teammates

Within 3 months, you will:

  • Be able to support employees in the UK region
  • Be proficient with our HRIS (Human Resources Info System) and able to compile reports from the data base
  • Be able to independently onboard all UK new hires
  • Manage and administer the international payroll processes
  • Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees.
  • Work closely with VP, Human Resources and Employee Engagement team to drive employee engagement efforts

Within 6 months, you will:

  • Independently engage with employees of all levels on HR related items with limited guidance from VP, Human Resources
  • Maintain compliance and be the subject matter expert with local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Independently handle less sensitive employee relations issues, and work alongside VP , Human Resources to resolve the more sensitive employee relations issues

  • Intermediate level quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • You like working in a fast paced and growing organization
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when managing sensitive employee information
  • 8+ years relevant experience, with solid knowledge of:
  • Strong knowledge of EMEA employment and labor laws and regulations
  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources administration.
  • Payroll and benefits administration
  • Experience in M&A, highly preferred
  • A strong desire to keep learning new things!
