The Senior Director of Lifecycle Marketing (LCM) position is a full-time remote role offering a competitive salary of $180K to $220K as well as a comprehensive performance based bonus package based on experience and geographic location. The position reports directly to the Chief Growth Officer.
In this role, you will be responsible for creating and executing lifecycle strategies to drive customer engagement, retention, cross-sell, upsell and overall revenue growth. A key focus will be on reducing customer churn through proactive initiatives and optimizing customer touchpoints. You will lead efforts across email marketing, retention programs, customer portal enhancements, and the development of upsell, cross-sell and add-on products. Working closely with product, sales, and marketing teams, you will ensure a cohesive approach to growing our customer base and improving customer lifetime value (CLTV).
Responsibilities:
- Develop & Execute Lifecycle Marketing Strategy:
- Own and lead the development of end-to-end customer lifecycle marketing strategies, focusing on email, retention, cross-sell, upsell, churn reduction, and customer engagement
- Email Marketing:
- Oversee email marketing campaigns that engage customers throughout their lifecycle, utilizing data-driven segmentation, personalization, and optimization to drive results
- Develop nurture email journeys to drive higher lead conversions across Liquid Web product lines.
- Customer Retention & Loyalty Programs:
- Design and manage customer retention programs that increase product usage and loyalty, ensuring continuous engagement with the Liquid Web brand
- Churn Reduction Initiatives:
- Proactively identify and implement strategies to reduce customer churn by analyzing data, identifying pain points and early warning signals for targeted interventions
- Cross-sell & Upsell Initiatives:
- Implement cross-sell and upsell strategies to drive incremental revenue through relevant product offerings, services, and add-ons
- Maximize revenue potential in the existing customer base
- Customer Portal Development and Growth:
- Oversee the development and ongoing enhancement of a user-friendly customer portal to provide self-service capabilities
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to improve the customer portal experience, making it a hub for engagement and marketplace growth opportunities
- Product Growth & Add-on Services:
- Develop and manage a portfolio of complementary add-on products to enhance the value proposition for existing customers
- Work closely with the product team to identify new features, services, and add-ons that align with customer needs and drive upsell and cross-sell growth
- Data-Driven Decision Making:
- Leverage customer data and insights to make informed decisions and continuously improve marketing strategies, focusing on customer retention and growth
- Team Leadership:
- Build and lead a high-performing lifecycle and cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration across departments to meet LCM goals
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with product, sales, and support teams to ensure a unified approach to customer engagement, retention, and upsell efforts
- Customer Feedback Loop:
- Establish feedback mechanisms to gather customer insights, ensuring continuous improvement of the customer journey
Skills, Competencies, and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in lifecycle marketing, retention, email marketing, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Proven experience in reducing churn, driving growth through email, retention programs, cross-sell, and upsell initiatives
- Strong expertise with CRM and marketing automation tools, including HubSpot and Salesforce.
- Experience working in fast-paced SaaS or tech environments, preferably in hosting or a related industry
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams
- Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence at all levels
- Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to translate business objectives into effective digital strategies
- Demonstrated ability to lead high-impact cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with customer portal development and product marketing
