Quality Technician – Electromechanical Inspection

 

Liquid Robotics is currently seeking a Quality Technician. This position will be responsible for assisting in a range of quality inspection roles and will be responsible for carrying out the inspection of various mechanical and electronic parts, sub-assemblies, and full assembly review. The Quality Technician will be responsible for using various precision mechanical measurement tools and electronic test equipment to verify conformity of materials and products to documented engineering specifications and standards. This role will be based in Herndon, VA and will require travel to Sunnyvale, California the first 6 months for training.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspects parts & materials for conformance to specifications.
  • Examines items for defects in materials and workmanship, including taking measurements for dimensional accuracy, fit, alignment, and operation, according to design documentation and other specifications
  • Approves or rejects items, while keeping accurate records of dispositions
  • Assist Manufacturing in continuous process improvement efforts.
  • Review completed inspection records to assure compliance with pertinent written directives and other program direction.
  • Set up and operate measuring instruments and equipment necessary to accomplish work assignments.
  • Move materials from place to place within the work area. This material can include not only parts, sub-assemblies and assemblies, but also tools, jigs, equipment, documentation, and other supplies as necessary for inspection and or assembly/test of products. This may include the packaging or unpackaging of raw material and/or finished products.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of inspection areas

 

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with at least 2+ years of relevant QA/QC inspection experience
  • Experience with measuring devices such as meters, gauges, calipers, and other physical measuring equipment
  • Experience working with various standard electrical test and measurement equipment with instruction
  • Experience using technical documents, engineering specifications or datasheets to ensure that products meet the intended design standards 
  • Excellent computer skills with standard productivity software including Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills; experience working with cross departmental groups including Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Logistics
  • Will require travel to Sunnyvale, California the first 6 months for training.
  • U.S. Person or Permanent Residency status required.

 

 Preferred Skills & Experience 

  • ASQ CQI or related Certification
  • Experience with Linux based operating systems
  • Robotics or ocean industry experience
