The Operational Excellence Engineer drives continuous improvement and optimization of operational processes, focusing on enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and fostering a culture of excellence within the organization. The person is a highly collaborative change agent who prioritizes effective cross-departmental communication and consistently delivers measurable results through data-driven decision-making and team engagement.

  • Lead continuous improvement and productivity initiatives using Operational Excellence, Lean, and structured project management methodologies
  • Plan, execute, and track improvement projects in alignment with business objectives, scope, schedule, cost, risk, and resource capacity.
  • Develop project charters, timelines, milestones, and benefits realization plans to ensure clear ownership, prioritization, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams across operations, engineering, planning, quality, and other stakeholders to drive project execution and change adoption.
  • Facilitate value stream mapping, process mapping, root cause analysis, and Kaizen events to identify waste, mitigate risks, and close performance gaps.
  • Build financially justified business cases and manage improvement projects with a focus on safety, quality, delivery, labor, and material productivity.
  • Monitor project performance using KPIs, dashboards, and standard reporting to ensure schedule adherence, budget control, and delivery of committed results.
  • Ensure sustainability of improvements through change management practices, standard work, documentation, postimplementation reviews, and reinforcement routines.
  • Coach and engage team members in continuous improvement activities, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence
  • Could potentially come in contact with hazardous chemicals.
  • Any other tasks as required fulfilling Lincoln Industries' Beliefs and Drivers.

  • Supervises:  N/A

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.

 

Education and/or Experience: 

Expected

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, Industrial Engineering, or a related role within a manufacturing, operations, or supply chain environment
  • Demonstrated experience leading or managing crossfunctional improvement projects from initiation through completion, using structured project management practices
  • Proven ability to apply Lean and/or Continuous Improvement tools, such as value stream mapping, process mapping, root cause analysis, Kaizen, or standard work
  • Effective communicator with the ability to influence without authority, collaborate across functions, and drive change adoption
  • Demonstrated proficiency in data visualization, reporting, and project tracking tools such as Power BI, Jira, or similar platforms.

Preferred

  • PMP/CAPM certification or equivalent experience in managing complex projects.
  • Green Belt Certification or be actively enrolled in Green Belt certification training class

Communication Skills:

Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language.
