SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the design and ongoing support of parts for the Branded Products team. This includes but is not limited to 3D CAD modeling, 2D print creation, prototyping, design release, along with print and process documentation updates after launch. This position works closely with our Sales, Operations, Materials Management, Quality, and Sourcing teams to design products ideal for manufacturing within our facility and our supply base. The Design Engineer will also assist the Branded Products Account Manager in development and maintenance of processes and procedures related to product development. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, hands-on engineer that can work with minimal supervision while delivering results against a timeline.

- Identify design requirements for a given product application
- Leads and manages multiple projects and priorities concurrently.
- Has the ability to solve technical problems and provide solutions to develop processes capable of meeting customer requirements.
- Technical project management
- Helps troubleshoot quality and process problems with others to determine internal and supplier manufacturing capabilities
- Quantify design risk for assessment by others.
- Design parts for manufacturing with 3D modeling software.
- Create 2D prints with emphasis on manufacturability.
- Maintain project design records until release on company Document Management System.
- Build and foster positive working relationships internally and externally
- Management of multiple project tasks and priorities concurrently
- Any other tasks as required fulfilling Lincoln Industries' Beliefs and Drivers.
- Could potentially come in contact with hazardous chemicals.
ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:
- Reports to: Segment Manager, Branded Products
QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience or Engineer-In-Training Certification may be substituted for the expected levels of education and general engineering experience required.
Education and/or Experience:
Expected: Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering and 3-5 years of related experience in a design role.
Preferred: Above requirements plus 5+ years of experience designing products for sheet metal and/or tube fabrication.

Other Skills:
- Intermediate proficiency with 3D modeling software; Experience with Solidworks 2017+ is preferred.
- Experience with joint design using fasteners and welds.
- Experience with sheet metal and tube manufacturing processes preferred.
- Experience with Finite Elements Analysis and product testing preferred.
- Experience with Additive Manufacturing preferred.
- Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing is a plus.
- Experience with 3D scanning or CMM measurement is a plus.
- APQP, FMEA, and PPAP experience are a plus.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Comprehensive training in Solidworks is required unless individual has sufficient experience.
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing training required unless individual has sufficient experience.
