SUMMARY:

Coaches and manages people directly engaged in production and operating processes across multiple value streams.  Responsible for multiple segments of the operations team, which include all operational metrics and leadership and development of their director and indirect reports. 

 

WAGE TYPE:  Salaried Exempt

  • Proven ability to effectively lead in an operational environment.
  • Strong base knowledge of the continuous improvement toolbox with experience in application. 
  • Understands sales forecasts & ability to ensure we have the capacity to meet current & future demand.
  • Strategy development for areas of responsibility & ensures alignment to organizational goals. 
  • Develop & controls profits, plans & budget.
  • Establish & monitor overall area performance for production & quality standards.
  • Manages & drives the CAPEX process for areas of responsibility, working with support team to build the business case & need.
  • Trains and certifies people and enforces company policies and safety procedures.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. 
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, on-boarding people and appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining, addressing complaints and resolving problems. 
  • Interprets blueprints, specification sheets and job orders and relays this information to people, assigns responsibilities to people as necessary. 
  • Leads the implementation and compliance of key company initiatives and programs for their team. 
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality control. 
  • 25-50% of time will be spend on factory floor.
  • Leadership development for direct reports and overall team. 
  • Could potentially come in contact with hazardous chemicals.
  • Any other tasks as required fulfilling Lincoln Industries' Beliefs and Drivers.

 

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:

  • Reports to:  Director of Operations
  • Direct Reports:  Department Managers, Process Specialists, Support Engineers, Process Managers, Team Leaders

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from four year college or university; or three to five years related experience required
  • Five years of demonstrated leadership experience in continuous improvement in a manufacturing setting required
  • 5-10 years of experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing setting required

 

Communication Skills:

  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language.
  • Interpersonal communication skills necessary.

 

Other Skills:

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Thorough knowledge of all machining equipment and manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication processes including welding, plating, deburring, preferred
  • Demonstrated success with implementation of 6s, lean, and Toyota production systems methodologies required
  • Certification as 6 Sigma Black Belt or Lean Master preferred
