As part of supporting our growth strategy, we are seeking a talented individual to help support our global supply base capabilities with our Strategic Sourcing team in Lincoln, NE.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES: As part of the Lincoln Industries’ Strategic Sourcing team, candidates perform the following to support our growth strategy:
- Support company growth by quoting projects with current strategic suppliers in a variety of manufacturing categories (stampings, castings, coatings, polishing, forgings, tube, fabrication and raw materials)
- Analyze technical prints and make suggestions for increasing manufacturability and decreasing costs
- Evaluate and compare supplier quotes based on multiple factors and provide recommendations to the Sales team
- Assist cross-functional teams on project implementation as the key contact for suppliers
- Develop relationships with strategic suppliers via email, phone calls and on-site visits
- Drive cost savings improving manufacturability of products, creating economies of scale and optimizing supply-chains
- Become the voice of the suppliers to internal customers discussing both technical and general topics
- Lead teams to creatively solve supplier challenges that are outside of day-to-day items
- Help train, mentor and lead Sourcing Engineers to build overall team knowledge, skills and efficiency
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with key suppliers
- Build relationships between Lincoln Industries’ departments (Account Managers, Supplier Quality, Integration Engineering, Planning, IT, Sales, Accounting) to address and resolve critical issues related to customer needs and supplier performance
- Manage supplier scorecards for assigned key suppliers
QUALIFICATIONS: We are looking for strong candidates with the following credentials.
Education and/or Experience:
Expected:
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in engineering (or equivalent experience)
- More than 5 years experience in purchasing, sourcing or quality in a manufacturing environment
- Experience reading prints and CAD files for a variety of manufacturing methods
- Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing experience (ASME Y14.5)
- Ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment
- Assertive on behalf of company needs and benefits through difficult conversations while also balancing fairness toward suppliers
- Ability to prioritize, organize and handle multiple projects at once
- Competent negotiation skills
- Ability to effectively communicate technical requirements and details
- Demonstrated continuous improvement history
- Superior interpersonal skills
Preferred:
- Overseas supply chain experience
- Familiarity with ISO9001 and IATF16949 quality systems and requirements
TRAVEL:
- Up to 20%, domestic and international travel as-needed.
