SUMMARY:

This position serves as a key enterprise wide engineering resource for establishing control methods and measurement systems as they pertain to plating, coating, and fabrication.  This position will drive continuous improvement by focusing on product consistency through identification and evaluation of KPOV’s (Key Process Output Variables) and KPIV’s (Key Process Input Variables). This role will be required to identify and implement engineered solutions to complex and/or critical process monitoring and control, as well as provide process control oversight on a daily basis.  Additionally, this position will play a key role in establishing process control for new product launches, new equipment implementation, troubleshooting, and upgrading existing processes. 

WAGE TYPE: Salaried Exempt. FLSA Exemption: Administrative Exemption.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

          Drives quality improvements through controlled KPIV’s (Key Process Input Variables) and KPOV’s (Key Process Output Variables)

  • Owns KPIV and works closely with Operations to ensure KPIV’s are monitored and controlled correctly.
  • Key resources for root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action, in the event of out-of-control KPIV’s or failure to meet KPOV’s (Key Process Output Variables)
  • Have a thorough understanding of the enterprise wide KPIV requirements and how they are to be monitored and controlled, which includes clear visibility to all stakeholders with defined roles and responsibilities.
  • Develop KPIV’s for new processes and product launches
  • Evaluate effectiveness of existing KPIV’s and correct as necessary
  • Identify KPIV’s requiring engineered solutions and implement accordingly

          Development and execution of enterprise Process Control Roadmap and Strategy.  This includes:

  • Development and communication of Vision
  • Develop, maintain, execute, and communicate process control roadmap
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key leadership and process teams

          Manage and evaluate large volumes of process input data to ensure processes are running as designed, as well as looking for trends that indicate pending problems

          Identify, select, and implement data management techniques (software and/or hardware) to facilitate accurate and efficient assessment of process control data

          Responsible for continually monitoring process capability for existing processes which includes early detection of pending capability issues and implementing corrective action.

          Evaluation of pFMEA risks identifying areas of opportunity

          Assist with Control Plan development for new product launches and ongoing updates

          Work closely with Quality to make sure KPOV’s are achieved, and when they are not performed root cause analysis and implement corrective action accordingly

          Daily standard work to include monitoring of process conditions on production floor (e.g. are controls and place and being executed by Operations, are there out of control conditions, etc)

          Support Sales and Quality teams with regulatory submissions (e.g. REACH, ROHS, CQI’s)

          Provide training on process control and six sigma methodology

          Periodic review of customer specifications to ensure appropriate testing of KPOV’s

          Could potentially come in contact with hazardous chemicals

          Any other tasks as required fulfilling Lincoln Industries' Beliefs and Drivers

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.

 

Education and Experience:

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a four-year college or university, preferably Chemical

  • Practical experience in process control, laboratories, or quality

Six Sigma training and Black Belt certification

Other Requirements:

Up to 25% travel to other Enterprise sites

Must be able to perform physical functions equivalent to Category E.
