SUMMARY:
This position is an engineering-focused Drafting Intern to assist our team in creating and modifying technical drawings and plans pertaining to our Digital Signs Division. This role offers hands-on experience in design projects, working with 2D and 3D models, updating documentation, and participating in design reviews and process improvements.
WAGE TYPE: Hourly
FLSA Exemption: Non-exempt
EXPECTED SCHEDULE: 20 Hours per week
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Create preliminary design sketches for conceptual analysis
- Create engineering drawings and designs for production and manufacturing
- Create design specifications, documentation, and material lists
- Estimate material and production costs for designs
- Prepare complete documentation packages for engineers
- Verify drawings are correct to specifications, codes, and other regulations
- Developing technical reports for engineers
ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:
- Reports to: Manager, Engineering

Education and/or Experience:
Expected: Applicants must be currently pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree.
Preferred: Engineering, Design & Drafting, or Engineering Technology Major
Communication Skills:
- Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language.
Other Skills:
- Ability to operate computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Proficient in SolidWorks
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Must have strong technical capabilities.
- Must have excellent technical/business writing skills.
- Candidates must be able to work both independently and, in a team, oriented environment.
- Must be a self-starter and able to ask questions to complete assignments on-time and with attention to detail.
- Work hours are flexible to accommodate class schedule.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
