SUMMARY:

Travels to customer locations to install frames built to customer specifications.  Troubleshoots and debugs mechanical structures as needed.  Primarily United States, but international travel possibilities.

WAGE TYPE: Salaried Exempt; FLSA Exemption: Administrative Exemption.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Installs and fine tunes LED frames, while working around AV equipment before/during assembly
  • Trouble shoot and debug mechanical structures
  • Makes repairs and adjustments (sometimes without direction)
  • Ability to fabricate and assemble on customer’s site (may need to work at elevated heights)
  • Work at the company’s main campus when not traveling (approximately 20%-30% of the time)
  • Work to review and interpret engineering specifications, schematics & blueprints
  • Ability to build equipment to quality and safety guidelines and customer specifications
  • Ability to communicate with Engineering staff to handle adjustments and/or corrections
  • Ability to schedule own travel arrangements
  • Responsible for project timelines and working within budget

  • Proper disposal of waste such as recyclables, standard waste, hazardous waste, etc. is expected

QUALIFICATIONS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.


Education and Experience:

  • Expected: AAS degree or technical degree in Machine Tool or Construction with minimum of 5 years related experience
  • Preferred: Millwright experience (may be substituted in lieu of AAS degree, with appropriate time/experience)

 

Other Skills:

  • Possess interpersonal skills and good organizational skills.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form.
  • Must be able to read and implement instructions on assembly of steel structures
  • Must have working knowledge of mechanical rigging/securing practices
  • Must be able to travel with little or no assistance and on quick notice
  • Must be able to communicate professionally with customer
  • Must have trouble shooting and problem-solving skills
  • Must possess analytical skills and able to adapt to high stress situations

 

 

 

Communication Skills:

  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language.
  • Ability to have manual dexterity due to constant handling of small parts.
  • Ability to put together intricate machines and/or fixtures.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools, measuring tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to have professional judgement and adapt techniques & tools for best options.
  • Ability to understand CAD and Solid Works drafting.
  • Ability to use measuring instruments, calipers, micrometers, indicators and read blueprints.
  • Ability to read and understand complex diagrams and blueprints.
  • Ability to work safely, use good judgment and work well individually and with others.
  • Ability to communicate with verbal and written skills.

 

 

Physical Requirements:
