Job Title:  Tube Bender Operator 

SUMMARY:

To bend product per specifications on Pines, IBP, or Eaton Leonard bending equipment ensuring quality product per customer and design requirements.

 

To assist in the development of product as necessary.

 

WAGE TYPE: Hourly

FLSA Exemption: Non-exempt

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1.Working from route sheets, worklist and/or verbal instructions from supervisor, verifies operation to be performed and material to be used on each job.

 

2.Completes all steps required in tube bending process according to established standards in a manner which results in meeting or exceeding production standards.

*Sets up bending equipment per blueprint with appropriate tooling and clamp block, radius die, follower, wiper and mandrel as required

*Programs bending equipment for production as required

*Determines adjustment(s) and pressures required to compensate for clamp marks,               scratches, wrinkling and other problems associated with improper set-up

*Continually monitors material quality and notifies quality control regarding defects

 

3.Using calipers, vector equipment and other appropriate measuring devices and blue prints, inspects parts for tolerances as they are produced.

 

4.Completes all required paperwork accurately.

*Ensures accuracy of numbers of parts produced, associated scrap and appropriate movement of parts to next operation

*Verifies rate of parts produced against routing and informs supervisor of

discrepancies

 

5.Performs prototype duties as required according to Engineering specifications.

 

6.Maintains clean work area.

 

7.Reports all items needing corrective action to supervisor i.e. DWG errors, tool problems, equipment problems, route sheets, material problems and part counts.

 

8.Ensures security and proper use of company equipment, tooling and supplies.

 

9.Participates in company sponsored training as required.

 

10.Assists supervisor in training functions as directed.

 

11.Adheres to all safety standards and procedures and maintains an ongoing awareness of safety for self and others in assigned work area.

 

12.Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.

 

13.Could potentially come in contact with hazardous chemicals

 

14.Any other tasks as required to fulfill Lincoln Industries Beliefs and Drivers.

 

 

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

*Post high school technical education or equivalent knowledge gained through experience

*Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

*Ability to use measuring devices

*Demonstrated mechanical aptitude

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

*Exposure to noise levels requiring hearing protection

  • Reports to:  Lead Tube Bender Operator

 

QUALIFICATIONSThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.

 

Education and/or Experience:

Expected:  High School diploma or GED.

Preferred: 1 year of related process experience

 

Communication Skills:

  • Must be able to read, write, and comprehend the English language
  • Interpersonal communication skills necessary
