SUMMARY:

Coaches and manages people directly engaged in production and operating processes.  Responsible for a segment of the operations team, which includes all operational metrics and leadership and development of their direct reports. The subject matter process expert for the area.

  • Proven ability to effectively lead in an operational environment.
  • Coordinates and monitors production processing across multiple shifts
    • Monitors and controls production process within established ranges.
    • Notifies Operations Manager as appropriate regarding production processing, including productivity, quality, and scheduling issues.
    • Monitors electrical and physical components of line to ensure efficient processing and notifies appropriate personnel of any problems.
    • Considered the technical expert of the shift and responsible for machine uptime, troubleshooting, and efficiency.
    • Provides technical hands-on support on equipment as needed
  • Trains and develops operators.
    • Trains new operators on the line work instructions.
    • Trains operators on the safety and environmental procedures pertaining to the line.
    • Provides performance feedback to assist new operators in developing the skills necessary to perform their job. 
    • Responsible for their teams annual reviews. 
    • Monitors and directs performance of all operators to continually develop skills and safe work habits.
    • Understand measurement equipment
    • Understand blueprints and product prints
    • Ability to learn automated equipment and transfer knowledge of best troubleshooting methods and proper setup of equipment to operators
  • Ensures that line personnel follow safety and environmental procedures.
    • Continuously monitors line for safety and environmental issues and notify appropriate personnel of problems.  
  • Continually monitors line for productivity and quality improvements.
    • Operates lines adhering to established quality procedures.
    • Monitors production processes to identify productivity and quality improvements.
  • Approximately 75% of time will be on the factory floor.
  • Leadership Development for Team Leaders and others
  • Change tools on equipment as needed.
  • Communicates with internal customers regarding status, order and finishing requirements
  • Provides technical advice to resolve problems and address value-added opportunities.
  • Helps troubleshoot quality and process problems.
  • Could potentially come in contact with hazardous chemicals.
  • Environmental responsibility is our commitment to our communities.
  • Proper disposal of waste such as recyclables, standard waste, hazardous waste, etc. is expected.
  • Any other tasks as required fulfilling Lincoln Industries' Beliefs and Drivers.

 

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:

  • Reports to:  Operations Manager
  • Direct Reports:  Team Leaders

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.

 

 

 

Education and/or Experience:

Expected:  Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years in related experience and/or training.

Minimum of 3 years of direct supervision/leadership experience

PreferredBS in Chemical, Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree. The successful candidate will have a key technical role in a high growth, high volume, fast-paced environment. Must be results driven, “hands-on”, ability to assess complex systems and make independent decisions, with a proven track record of delivering on stretch objectives.

 

Communication Skills:

  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language.
  • Interpersonal communication skills necessary.

 

Other Skills:

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Mechanical aptitude and technical ability to solve problems
