Systems Engineer:

The IT Systems Engineer has the responsibility of administrating, operating, maintaining, monitoring and troubleshooting our 24X7 IT infrastructure across multiple datacenters.  The Systems Engineer will work with other team members to ensure the availability, reliability and performance of our global computing infrastructure. 

What You Will Do:

  • Provide technical expertise in IT infrastructure design, implementation and management
  • Work closely with business owner to ensure that systems and services deployments and operations meet or exceed customer needs
  • Insure uptime and system availability inline with business and IT goals
  • Communicate effectively with peers and management
  • Work independently to drive projects to completion
  • Proficient at documentation including as-built, FAQ, rack elevations 
  • Perform fault and performance analysis of production systems.  Drive fault resolution and root cause analysis for critical issues
  • Analyze and resolve performance issues, capacity issues, replication, and other challenges with distributed systems in a geo-disparate IT infrastructure
  • Proactively monitor, report and trend critical IT systems to ensure high availability with minimum downtime
  • Maintain operational, configuration and other procedures and documentation
  • Participate in on-call rotation supporting systems after hours, weekdays and/or holidays
  • Participate in on-call rotation supporting systems after-hours, weekends and/or holidays
  • Upgrade and configure system software that supports global infrastructure applications
  • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis
  • Upgrade administrative tools and utilities
  • Manage and escalate cases to vendors for problem resolution 
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required
  • Build tools to automate processes and operate production systems
  • Develop and sustain productive relationships with internal and client resources
  • Collaborate with all functional areas of the business to identify, analyze, prioritize and communicate project deliverables
  • Demonstrate relevant technical and professional knowledge of applications, the discovery process, and related topics through training, vendor meetings, seminars, vendor materials, and documentation, self-study, user group meetings inside and outside the firm, industry networking, and professional journals
  • Learn company's service offerings
  • Act and work both independently and in a team environment
  • Experience with ITIL or similar process frameworks
  • Perform all other job related duties.  
  • Provides expert technical leadership in the plan, design, implementation, operation and management of our Microsoft Windows/VMware/Hyper-V based environment
What You Will Need:
  • 5+ years of progressive experience with large scale enterprise infrastructure including VMware, Cisco UCS, SAN and NAS Storage, Microsoft, Linux
  • B.S./B.A. in Computer Science, related filed or comparable job experience
  • Experience operating highly-available, high volume IT environments, with emphasis on high performance and/or high capacity enterprise infrastructure
  • Working knowledge of or expertise in three or more of the following:
    • SAN and NAS storage
    • VMware ESXi and Vcenter
    • VMware Horizonview
    • Cisco UCS
    • Cisco Networking
    • Microsoft Server Os's
    • Linux
    • MS SQL Server
    • Microsoft PowerShell or other scripting languages
    • Microsoft Active Directory principles and design
    • Understanding of Single Sign-On Systems and multi-factor authentication systems
    • Security principles as related to IT infrastructure
    • Microsoft Certificate Services or other PKI systems
    • Understanding Malware prevention, response and threat mitigation
    • Experience managing WSUS infrastructure
    • Understanding Malware prevention, response and threat mitigation
    • Experience managing WSUS infrastructure
    • Understanding of Networking in a global IT organization
  • Preferred: MSCE or other industry certifications
  • Understanding of data center design and principles - hosting experience a plus
  • Ability to product high quality deliverables on time/on budget
