Staff Accountant - Accounts Payable

The Staff Accountant - Accounts Payable will perform accounts payable activities including reviewing, processing and timely payment of invoices as well as record journal entries and prepare reconciliations related to accrual accounts and others as assigned.  This position will also be responsible for daily cash application.  The ideal candidate will positively represent the Company to external vendors and internal customers providing prompt service. 

What You Will Do:

  • Process invoices accurately including proper coding and authorization to ensure accuracy and proper approval
  • Support system implementation relating to accounts payable, purchase orders and cash application
  • Preparation of weekly check runs, ensuring inclusion of appropriate documentation and signatures
  • Process daily cash receipts
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations related to accounts payable, AMEX and others as assigned
  • Support month end close through variance reporting of assigned accounts
  • Communicate with Company employees and vendors, maintaining positive relationships
  • Research and resolve issues related to accounts payable and ensure proper accounting controls
  • Filing of invoices and journal entries
  • Prepare year-end 1099 reporting
  • Ad hoc projects
What You Will Need:
  • Degree in accounting or related field
  • Four plus years previous experience in accounts payable
  • Strong experience with accounts payable and reporting in able to perform coding high degree of accuracy
  • Maintains employee confidence by keeping information confidential
  • Proven track record of being able to process accounts payable data accurately within established time frame
  • Strong communication skills and ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to research and resolve issues
  • Flexibility and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail
