  • Must be registered by the facility state to work as a nursing assistant in long term care.
  • Have a genuine interest in working with seniors and always maintain patience and provide cares in a caring, helpful manner.
  • Provide personal care services per resident’s plan of care including bathing, dressing, grooming, meal set-up, toileting, positioning, transferring, mobility, and any other personal care described in the plan of care.
  • Provide delegated nursing services per resident’s plan of care including assistance with medications, skin care, range of motion, maintenance therapy, respiratory assistance, assistance with prosthetic and orthotics, necessary observation and monitoring, wound care, and other treatments described in the plan of care.
  • Serve meals and snacks, assist with resident dining, clean up after meal service and clean work areas including equipment, dishes, and utensils as assigned.
  • Must attend a minimum of twelve hours of in service annually.
  • Complete charting and documentation on a regular basis.
  • Effectively communicate with all department staff.
  • Understand the importance of proper body mechanics when lifting, transporting, or transferring


  • CNA in good standing on the state registry
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
  • Must be able to relate professionally, positively, and cooperatively with residents, resident’s families and employees.
  • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
  • Must meet all local health regulations and pass post-employment physical exam if required.  This requirement also includes drug screening, criminal background investigation, and reference inquiry.
  • Must be capable of performing the Essential Job Functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
