  • Provide a helpful and caring attitude towards tenants, families, and other staff.
  • Assist clients in getting ready for their daily, evening or night routines as delegated by licensed nurse and according to each client’s service plan.
  • Assist clients with the following needs according to each client’s individualized service plan after being competency tested and evaluated by a registered nurse:
  • Assist clients with self-administration of medication and/or medication administration
  • Assist clients with body positioning or transferring of a client
  • Assist clients with feeding if necessary
  • Assist clients with bowel and bladder control, devices, and training programs
  • Assist clients with therapeutic or passive range of motion exercises
  • Assist clients with bathing
  • Assist clients with all activities of daily living as needed
  • Transports and/or escorts clients to dining room at meal times
  • Recognize and report significant changes in a tenant's health status.
  • Complete all job requirements according to established facility policies and procedures.
  • Accurately document and chart as needed.
  • Respond to emergencies and unexpected situations calmly and effectively.
  • Effectively communicate with tenants, families, and other staff to ensure the highest quality of care and customer service is provided.


  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • CNA preferred
  • Experience in an Assisted Living community is preferred.
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
  • Must be able to relate professionally, positively, and cooperatively with residents, resident’s families and employees.
  • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
  • Must meet all local health regulations and pass post-employment physical exam if required.  This requirement also includes drug screening, criminal background investigation, and reference inquiry.
  • Must be capable of performing the Essential Job Functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
