About You and this Role  

   

Liferay is looking for an experienced Project Manager who has a hunger to put their knowledge to the test and apply it to real world projects.  You value people over process. You strive to find ways to improve complex systems across the organization. You understand that success of a team is dependent on its members, and you enjoy cultivating this culture. You know how to manage expectations of stakeholders while pushing the team forward to succeed in projects and initiatives. You are a highly organized and detail-oriented problem solver, team player, and communicator.

As a Project Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of support projects. You need to ensure that the project will be delivered successfully in time, therefore you need to:  
   
  • Actively work with your team to handle project escalation issues, facilitate discussion, and resolve any conflicts as needed  
  • Proactively communicate a clear picture to team members of what project success looks like, and work with client leadership to build the comprehensive plan on how to get there  
  • Partnering with our clients, you will define, gather and analyze client requirements, as well as provide them with consistent follow ups and progress reports  
  • Assist high-performance teams and individuals track progress and clear any project roadblocks along the way  
  • Follow Liferay’s Services methodology for delivery when managing project risks and issues, helping the project stay on course to achieve targeted outcomes  
  • Effectively coordinate tasks and schedules of the project according to each phase and priority  



  

Required Qualifications  
  • Native verbal and written communication skills in Japanese for communication with Japanese enterprise customers 

    Conversational to business verbal and written communication skills in English   

     
  • Proficient in engaging and communicating with senior management, including but not limited to C-levels  
  • Knowledgeable in technology, including evaluation and configuration of project management and collaboration tools  
  • Experienced in cross-functional communication and application of project management techniques in situations that involve a blend of resources from initial strategy mapping to user experience design   
  • Able to work independently with excellent time management skills. Detail-oriented with a strong problem solving mindset  
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate complex business solution concepts clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences  
  • Passionate about personal development and continuous improvement  
Preferred Qualifications  
  • Knowledge of content management systems and other portal platforms 
  • Knowledge of project management tools: JIRA, MS Project Plan  
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies (Software Development Lifecycle)  
  • Computer Science or Engineering degree or equivalent level of demonstrated knowledge  
  • Professional certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master certification etc.
