About You and this Role
Liferay is in the process of establishing a new Technology Sourcing function to support its various business units to optimize overall vendor management efficiency. The ideal candidate is a proactive contributor (a ‘doer’) who is ready to be the anchor point of this function; shape the strategic roadmap; share past experience, lessons learned with stakeholders, in order to build a team that will have a very direct and positive impact on the company’s profit margin.
The Senior Technology Sourcing Manager role primarily focuses on strategic sourcing and procurement of Technology-related software and services, which involves developing sourcing strategies, negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring alignment with Liferay's business objectives. The role requires strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills, as well as in-depth knowledge of the enterprise software market.
This position will work with Technology Compliance, Risk and Technology Vendor Operations. 
Key Objectives

 

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of work experience in procurement with a focus on enterprise software solutions.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
  • Deep understanding of the enterprise software market landscape, including key players, emerging trends, and competitive dynamics. 
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to effectively communicate and Influence both internal stakeholders and external suppliers. 
  • Project Management: Experience leading multi-disciplined projects with minimal supervision through collaboration and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of cost savings. Ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and to implement strategies to achieve them.
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and the ability to work effectively with autonomy. Willingness to step-in and help with a “Start-up” and “can do” attitude.
  • A proactive mindset and a strong desire to grow. 

 

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Leadership experience or experience mentoring or guiding less experienced colleagues.
  • Experience leading projects or initiatives, even without formal managerial authority.
  • Relevant certificates are a plus such as CPSM, CIPS, CSCP, CPM.
