Project Manager Intern

Liferay is looking for a Project Manager/Business Analyst Intern who has a hunger to put their knowledge to the test and apply it to real world projects.  The internship is hands-on, rigorous, and FUN! - but that’s largely dependent on you.

Your work will include but not limited to:

  • Learn industry standards, best practices, and team conventions in Software Development.
  • Participate in an agile process to clarify requirements, manage your own delivery and obtain feedback on your deliverables.
  • Learn software development lifecycle and leverage Liferay’s suite of products and platform.
  • Use a structured approach to capture, define, gather and analyze client requirements by working with clients and other team members KNOW 
  • Understand client needs and translate into portal and integration functionality
  • Assist project team with:
    • Transforming requirements gathered into individual technology and operational tasks
    • Assigning timelines to each individual tasks
    • Participating in release planning and coordination
    • Managing scope and requirement changes
    • Prioritizing tasks with the larger team
    • Develop a business case
    • Track through requirement progress and clear any project roadblocks
  • Assessing capability gaps and organizational readiness both with clients and internally
  • Following Liferay’s Services methodology for delivery 
  • Begin to research client domain 
  • Take ownership of tasks assigned. 

Dates, Days, Time: Min 12 hrs per week.  Mon-Fri 9:30-18:00       
*flexible schedule

  • Ability to take direction and absorb information quickly
  • Analytical thinker and problem solver
  • No Japanese required but preferred
  • Computer Science or Business Management related Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required.
  • Analytical thinker and problem solver
  • Knowledge of Software development concepts
  • Beginning Agile Project Management Experience
  • Able to manage time and stick to a schedule
