About You and this Role
Liferay is seeking a driven and collaborative Associate Sales Engineer to join our dynamic team in the UK. In this role, you will be a supporting technical resource for our sales team, working to win and close new and expansion business. You will be instrumental in demonstrating the power and flexibility of the Liferay platform to prospective customers and partners, architecting solutions that drive real business growth. This role involves understanding customer needs, demonstrating product capabilities, and assisting in the sales process. You’re someone who can work well within a team setting, with strong communication skills and technical capability.
Key Objectives
Partner with our Sales team to drive new and expansion business. You will be responsible for helping shape the technical-win in qualified opportunities, supporting our direct sales team, partners, and channels.
Learn to serve as the go-to technical expert during the sales cycle. You will help the team to deliver compelling product demonstrations, presentations, and workshops.
Understand customer challenges and design high-level solutions using the Liferay DXP. You will help to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Work in tight-knit teams with Account Executives, Customer Experience (CX), Marketing, and Engineering to ensure a seamless customer journey.
Assist in the creation and maintenance of high-impact sales collateral, demonstration environments, and training materials.
Maintain a deep, up-to-date knowledge of the Liferay suite of products and frequent releases by working across departments and engaging in continuous learning.
Prepare to confidently speak at public events, to highlight Liferay technology to a diverse audience.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent level of demonstrated professional experience.
Demonstrable experience in an object oriented programming language and basic front end development skills.
Demonstrable experience in at least one SQL database technology (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to dissect complex issues and propose effective solutions.
Proficient professional skills, including highly effective written and verbal communication and presentation abilities.
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while paying strict attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
One additional language apart from high level English.
Familiarity with sales methodologies and CRM systems.
Experience with pre-sales or in a client-facing technical role.
Familiarity with generative AI tools (e.g., Gemini, Sonnet4)
