Business Development Manager - Japan
The primary responsibilities of a Business Development Manager is to manage the relationship of an existing portfolio of
accounts, partner with our customers to activity protect our existing relationship and seek opportunities to expand our
services of existing and new products. This role will also have expected growth targets for new business in both our
Career Transition and Talent Development services.
The successful candidate will have a strong business to business sales experience, is customer focused and enjoys
working in a collaborative work environment and can work autonomously. They must have excellent organisational skills,
proven history of strategic account management and high cognitive abilities. You will be operating in a low ego, high
achievement, strong work ethic environment. We’ll be looking for someone who enjoys this dynamic.
➢ Reports directly to the Managing Director, Japan
➢ Deliver against individual sales targets:
➢ Gross Revenue
➢ New Business
➢ Delivery Staff Costs (DSC)
➢ Account management with new and existing customers
➢ Close partnership & collaboration with various Subject Matter Experts within LHH to ensure a ‘total-solutions’
approach to the sales process. This includes leading and participating in presentations, proposals, discussion
documents, and other sales activities.
➢ Ensure all systems and processes (through Sales Force) and best sales practice process
➢ Strategic approach & implementation to acquire new business including prospecting
➢ Account Management for 30-40 customers
➢ Deliver sales target in both our Career Transition and Talent Development Practices
➢ Strong track record of growing both new and existing offerings
➢ Team player - Proven capability to collaborate with subject matter experts & executives to ensure high value
solutions are being proposed to existing and new customers
➢ Solution / Insight Sales - Substantial experience and positive track record for leading a broad solutions focused
sales organization, including proven record of consultative sales success with HR and key C-levels.
➢ Strong customer and results orientation.
➢ Superior communication and presentation skills – Knowledge of all LHH programs and services, and ability to
articulate them in sales and other communications. Must also develop knowledge of competitors/competitive
programs and of the LHH differentiators that enable us to successfully sell and close business.
➢ Project Management Skills - Highly organized, disciplined and success-motivated.
➢ Strong coordinator - Ability to juggle multiple variables and multiple projects.
➢ High Energy - High personal energy coupled with a genuine enthusiasm for developing the LHH business.
➢ Tertiary Degree - University Degree in Economics or Human Resources is an advantage
➢ Language – Native Japanese speaker. Business level English capability is preferred
➢ Human Capital Expert - Previous Human Capital Sales Experience is critical
