Manager, Business Development

The Manager, Business Development has a primary objective of generating profitable new business that supports the growth of our Talent Development and Career Transition businesses. This is primarily a telephone based prospecting role with some account management. Revenue generation will be achieved through the creation of sales leads, initiation of prospect calls and establishment of ongoing rapport with existing and potential customers.

Major Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

      Proactively call prospects that are generated by internal lists of inactive customers or mid size enterprise prospects and external sources of leads

      Identify decision makers to begin the sales process

      Emphasize product/service features and benefits, quote prices and prepare proposals

      Handle inbound, unsolicited prospect calls and convert them into sales

      Maintain and expand the database of prospects

      Collaborate with Sales colleagues to determine necessary strategic sales approaches

      Support marketing efforts such as trade shows, exhibits and other events

      Enter new customer data and update changes to existing accounts in the corporate CRM – salesforce.com

 

Required Experience/Characteristics

      University or College Degree in a relevant field, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.

      3 to 5 years of direct work experience in a sales or telesales capacity in the consulting or Human Resources sector.

      Organized self-starter who enjoys prospecting

      Solid experience in opportunity qualification, pre-call planning, call control, account development and time management

      Ability to convert prospects and close deals while maintaining established sales quotas

      Success in qualifying opportunities involving multiple decision makers

      Strong problem identification and objection resolution skills

      Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships

      Experience working in the consulting sector

      Exceptional communication skills (listening, oral, written)

      Self-motivated, with high energy and enthusiasm

      Team player who effectively draws on others

      High level of integrity and work ethic

      Experience with salesforce.com software
