IT Business Partner, Reporting & Data Analysis

The IT Business Partner, Reporting & Data Analysis (ITBP) will have a depth of experience in facilitating analytics and reporting, and a proven track record of leadership and success in engaging diverse business constituents.


The ITBP will be the key liaison linking technical, commercial, and operations functions to help define enterprise data and analytical needs. The ITBP will also assist in assessing and building analytics capabilities within functional areas via a consultative approach.


The ITBP will interface directly and cross functionally with key leaders across all areas of the organization and will be accountable for assimilating the needs across all stakeholders and end users and will be ultimately responsible for helping transform the company’s ability to utilize and rely on consistent information and analytics.


The ITBP plays a vital role in IT by designing enterprise-level reporting solutions. This role requires complete comprehension of enterprise data and utilization of various data sources. The ideal candidate will have experience in design and development with a solid background in BI and reporting.

In this role you can expect to:

Key Accountabilities

      Interact with business leaders to understand their business and reporting needs, including critical metrics and KPIs

      Troubleshoot issues with minimal guidance, identify data related problems and provide scalable solutions

      Transform business requirements into a prototype to provide business and data insights

      Partner with analysts and business leaders to generate business value from data, creating custom reports, translating the analytics into insights and potential implications for the business

      Collaborate with IT colleagues to influence data strategy and governance

      Oversee the data operations function and manage the offshore DataOps team to ensure data is available to meet business analytical needs

      Collaborate with IT and business colleagues to influence and establish a corporate data/BI governance process, including consistent definition of data elements across data sources

      Facilitate business discussions for consistent views of key data, e.g., how do we measure candidate engagement, etc.

      Ensure we have proper controls around our data and reporting


What we are expecting from you

      Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field of study and a minimum of three years of analytical work or at least five years of analytical work

      Proven ability to discuss business needs with a wide range of stakeholders, translate them into technical requirements, evaluate feasibility, and advocate for the best solutions

      Independent, able to turn ambiguity into a prioritized list of questions that can be answered by data

      Strong understanding of data manipulation, data warehousing, and ETL concepts

      Familiarity with modern tools for building data pipelines

      Strong knowledge of SQL

      Experience with BI tools used for reporting and dashboarding

      Excellent communication skills

      Ability to work effectively in a fully remote and distributed team

Preferred skills

      Advanced use of SQL to retrieve & manipulate data as well as visualization tools to tell people stories; SQL Server knowledge a plus

      Experience working and communicating directly with stakeholders to build reporting solutions with an eye towards performance optimization, ease of use, and scalability

      Present & explain insights/trends in the data to stakeholders, questioning the status quo, driving for the “why”, and recommending a course of action

      Self-starter, entrepreneurial, works collaboratively within a team & across all levels of an organization

      Approach work with a powerful sense of ownership, curiosity, & a strong dedication to continuous improvement

      Ability to dive into the data issues and convey recommendation(s) to stakeholders

      Two or more years of development experience in one or more BI Reporting Tools (Microstrategy, PowerBI, etc.)

      Background in data modeling

      Practice in data cleansing and data transformation activities

      Background in optimizing dashboards with focus on usability, performance, flexibility, and standardization

      Practice in end-to-end implementation of BI projects for developing a portfolio of scorecards, KPIs, reports & dashboards
