Global Accounts Payable Accountant

The Global AP Accountant will be UK based and responsible for the development of new control processes and Accounts Payable (AP) functions which have arisen due to business expansion globally and within the UK&I. The role will perform the invoice processing and associated accounting, as well as setting up new AP processes for the Global functions and the control processes in the UK. This will include all Associate payments, Supplier invoices and UK global process improvement. The role will have some monthly and periodic reporting into the Group.


The position will develop new governance procedures to ensure that spend is controlled in the Global and UK based Ezra businesses, ensuring correct approvals, PO set up, accurate journal postings, reconciliations in the balance sheet.

Ensures accurate control environment between AP and financial accounting for entities (HMRC, both UK Statutory and US GAAP.)

  • Manages AP and set up in new business
  • Certain US GAAP Reporting (MFRP/GRP)
  • Responsible for Balance Sheet Reconciliations for entities, including setting up regular reviews and requirements for this
  • Interface with external audit (supporting Head of Accounting)
  • Manage Compliance with Adecco Group Policies

Major Responsibilities

        Develops Financial Accounting environment – including controls, tax and accounting

        Develops payment processes for UK based Global and Ezra businesses

        Certain HMRC Tax accounting and reporting

        Oversees process improvement in AP and general ledger

        Improve Balance Sheet Rec process and presentation

        Develop sign off procedures, invoice controls and O2P environment

        Manage the administration of banking facilities

Required Experience/Characteristics

        Experienced AP Manager, with substantial experience in similar sized businesses

        Effective at building and maintaining business partner relationships

        Technical, relevant and up to date accounting knowledge in relevant AP and GL areas

        Ability to appraise current processes and deliver key changes, alongside stakeholders

        High levels of resilience; sustains momentum when faced with challenges.

        Balances competing demands and responds well to changed priorities

        Communicates effectively and inspires people at all levels whilst gaining the commitment of others to drive towards and achieve a high-performance culture

        Able to analyse the cause of a problem and identify solutions

        Planning and organisation; consistently completes deliverables within deadline, within budget, and beyond expected quality

        Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy

        Accounting qualification preferred, however directly relevant experience is essential
