Bid Management Team Lead – UK & International Markets (12 months fix-term)

The Opportunity Management Team (OMT) is a global bid management function that partners with sales and wider teams to deliver wow moments for customers. We deliver an end-to-end bid and proposal management service for all parts of LHH, that leverages global insights and best practices to support all forms of pursuits.

 

This role is responsible for managing the Opportunity Management function in UK and additional international territories, including management of a small team as well as the direct management of high value opportunities.

 

The role is focusing on LHH Leadership Development and Career Transition & Mobility Solutions.

 

This is a 1-year contract to provide maternity leave cover.

 

Reporting Relationships:

  • Global Head of Opportunity Management (based UK)
  • Close working relationship with senior sales and SME Leaders across UK, wider EMEA and globally

Direct Reports:

  • You will be leading a team of 3 people, remote in UK & Europe.

Location:

  • 100% virtual from home
  • Residence in UK and valid work permit required, this role does not support via sponsorship

  • No travelling required

In this role you can expect to

  • Management and coaching of three team members (based in the UK and continental Europe) to ensure achievement of their personal and the team objectives
  • Engagement with BDs and Sales Leaders to:
    • Qualify opportunities for bid support
    • Understand their sales pipelines for forthcoming opportunities
    • Promote best practices including the onboarding of new sales personnel and attending sales meetings
    • Share insights and key OMT results each quarter
    • Drive opportunities for improvements in ways of working
  • Direct management of bids/proposals. Partnering with senior sales leads to provide challenge, insight and direction you will produce high-quality, critical sales documents such as RFP responses, proposals and presentations, ensuring the process is run smoothly and to best practices
  • Contribute to the management and evolution of our content through creation of case studies and boilerplate
  • You will also work closely with marketing, sales enablement and expert teams in the support of wider sales support and knowledge management activities.
  • Development of team members (in their roles and more broadly) to achieve talent retention and pipeline objectives

All About You

  • Min. 7 years’ recent experience as a professional bid manager or leading pursuits – including direct responsibility for the project management of opportunities, hands-on writing, sourcing of content and preparation of materials.
  • Experience of directly managing a team and being responsible for their performance – we are unable to consider applications from individuals with no direct management experience
  • Ability to navigate, adapt and succeed in ambiguity
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Time / priority Management for managing multiple projects simultaneously (typically 3-5 deadlines, with 1-2-week turnaround)
  • Analytical skills, being able to interpret data and use it effectively with impact
  • Stakeholder management – ability to collaborate and influence at all levels
  • Ability to focus on the detail whilst not losing sight of the big picture
  • Ability to ensure that standards and processes are maintained
  • Resourcefulness, creativity and intuitiveness
  • Adept at distilling complex concepts into compelling visual information and sales messaging
  • Agile and has a sense of urgency
