ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Director of Sports, Product to lead the next phase of our product evolution, focusing on product optimization and discovery. This senior leadership role requires a high-level strategic thinker with a strong eye for design and a proven ability to lead a product team of approximately 15 to 20 people. The Director will be crucial in defining what we're building and why, ensuring a great user experience, and driving strategic outcomes.
This is an opportunity to make a significant impact on a core product offering within a leading iGaming company. If you have a passion for sports, a deep understanding of data-driven strategies, and a proven track record of building successful products, this role is for you.
YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Leading the team in the new phase of product work focused on product optimization and discovery.
- Defining and driving the product roadmap in line with our overall strategy.
- Identifying opportunities to drive our product strategy and achieve desired outcomes.
- Managing a team of 15 to 20 people and driving the departmental growth.
- Bringing a strong focus to the design side of things and ensuring an exceptional user experience.
- Building a visual story around the product strategy to align internal teams.
- Driving cross-functional alignment, delivering clear product communication, and influencing decisions through data-backed insights.
OUR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
Essential skills:
- Product Vision & Visual story telling - Be able to drive, develop, and evangelize the product vision for an 18-28 month time window. Use visual storytelling to communicate and explain the product vision to the team and the business.
- Focus on Outcome over Output - Be outcome-driven and focussed on commercial and behavioral impact: an expert in tracking and defining business and product metrics that drive our business goals
- Design / Usability focussed - Be able to represent the voice of the customer: deep understanding of customer behavior, understanding of user friction points, and knowledge of modern design patterns from sportsbetting or tangential industry
- Cross Industry & Trend Synthesis - Synthesizes product innovations and trends across industries, leveraging strong product intuition to convert platform/customer insights into high-value hypotheses for an improved sportsbooks player journey.
- Leadership - Strong track record of leading and developing product teams by providing strategic context based on data-driven insights and opportunities.
Nice-to-have skills:
- Previous experience working on similar, high-level products within a reputable company.
- Strong industry experience in sports betting.
