LegalZoom is looking for talented, passionate, and driven engineers to join the Fulfillment team and help support our mission of 'Democratizing Law'. The Fulfillment team has a direct impact on revenue. You will be ensuring that each customer receives their personalized request by building event-driven, low-latency solutions to challenging technical problems.
 
You will: 

  • Design, build, and maintain large-scale services, job pipelines and systems. 
  • Develop and define the platform for the next generation of Fulfillment solutions
  • Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack 
  • Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes
  • Work collaboratively in cross-functional teams with design, product and data science partners   

You have: 

  • Have 2+ years of experience as a software engineer shipping applications to Production in Java, C#, C++, Kotlin, or other high-level object-oriented language.
  • Bachelors and/or Masters degree in CS or related field, or equivalent experience 
  • Strong coding skills in Java/Kotlin/C# or similar high-level object-oriented language building performant production quality code. 
  • Experience writing SQL for relational databases such as Postgres, MySQL, Oracle, and MS SQL.
  • Familiarity with document, column, and cache solutions such as Couchbase, MongoDB, Redis, Solr, or ElasticSearch.
  • E Experience writing distributed event-based programming patterns with systems such as Kafka, RabitMQ, Apache Storm.
  • Familiarity with public cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical ideas clearly and succinctly to fellow engineers both verbally and in writing.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in computer science concepts and system design, a track record of shipping highly scalable applications, experience shipping containerized workloads on public cloud infrastructure. Previous experience with Kotlin in a Production environment a plus.
