LegalZoom has helped millions of customers become business owners by enabling them to #makeitofficial with business formation solutions such as an LLC or Corporation. The Platform team at LegalZoom designs, builds, deploys, and manages our large-scale software infrastructure. You are responsible for managing a team of DevOps Engineers responsible for enabling developers to deploy and maintain our highly available applications hosted in the cloud. Application scale, automated release processes, and the production operating environment are your domain. We thrive in the details, solving complex problems and iteratively improving the customer experience. You will be joining an inclusive team of diversely talented engineers covering all aspects of technology.

You will 

  • Provide mentoring, and leadership to a team of 3-4 engineers
  • Monitor and manage team performance, productivity, and individual team member development
  • Maintain and monitor production application systems and services, serving as a point of escalation for production incidents
  • Identify opportunities that will help team members to reach their stretch goals and individual career objectives, while collaborating with the Director of SRE to help engage on these opportunities
  • Help to drive employee engagement, empowering your team to not only champion their own efforts, but to encourage others to be truly vested team players
  • Maintain deep technical and business knowledge of industry trends in the area of application architecture and programming languages
  • Help establish and maintain technology standards

You have

  • Cloud First – You're at home in the cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and what patterns to use for a microservice architecture
  • Security First Mindset – application security is an obsession. You are passionate about teaching others about security best practices.
  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience
  • Hands-on experience architecting, deploying, and scaling applications hosted on multiple clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP) including exposure to container and cluster orchestration technologies such as Docker, EKS, or Kubernetes
  • Experience automating infrastructure using tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, TerraForm, CloudFormation or CDK
  • Familiarity with APM monitoring and log analysis

Bonus Points

  • Experience with Python, Typescript, and Golang
  • Experience with ArgoCD
  • Experience with AWS CDK, EC2, EKS, IAM, ALB, NLB, Lambda, Step Functions
  • Experience with Akamai, Cloudfront or other CDN
  • Experience with Apigee
