TownNews, a leading application service provider of digital and broadcast solutions for local media companies located in Moline, IL, has an immediate opening for a BLOX Total CMS Implementation Manager. This position requires extensive travel during the course of a year (50% or higher) but does not require relocation. We’re looking for someone that is well versed in both Adobe InDesign and InCopy and that has previous newsroom experience. An ideal candidate is someone who is willing to take ownership of projects assigned to them and see them through to completion.

The duties of an Implementation Manager include, but are not limited to, training a customer's designated Template Manager in the creation and maintenance of Adobe InDesign document templates, snippets and rulesets using both on-site (usually three days on-site plus travel) and follow-up remote sessions. The candidate will also be responsible for handling BLOX Total CMS Adobe InDesign Client training sessions and for providing onsite follow-up support during go-live (usually 10 days on-site plus travel, including weekends).

Implementation Managers will also be responsible for on-site appliance setup and for working with site support personnel to establish a strategy for page output (PDF) paths and for working with the site's project team to establish slugging, workflow, and user group rights and privileges. Included in this role: assist site in establishing third-party feeds such as incoming services (AP) and outgoing feeds (NewsBank, Merlin, Legacy.com.)

Additional areas of experience:

  • Principles of networking
  • Basic understanding of Windows and Mac OS
  • Basic understanding of Linux servers
