Circulation Distribution Specialist
The La Crosse Tribune is looking for a part-time Circulation Distribution Specialist to work overnight weekends to oversee our loading dock as well as distribution center.
The Circulation Distribution Specialist: The primary role of the Circulation Distribution Specialist is to achieve company objectives and to assist the District manger to oversee an independent contractor carrier force. The Circulation Distribution Specialist will also contribute to growing circulation volumes and revenue within the assigned district, by ensuring customer/subscriber service and satisfaction levels are met or exceeded. This position works part of the time in an office or majority of the time within the assigned newspaper district or distribution area.
The successful candidate will work flexible hours recruiting, negotiating and maintaining contracts with independent contractors for defined geographical areas. They will also split and realign delivery areas, manage dealer relations, collections/returns, deliver open / down routes and monitor contract performance. Manage financial and distribution performance metrics for their defined geographic area. Provide input to budgets for the area. Ensure the efficient distribution of products through initiation of route restructuring, consolidation, splits or other means designed to maximize volumes while limiting expense exposure. Work with other District Managers in the same geographic areas to be more efficient.
Hours are Sun and Mon overnights (9:30pm to 6:30am) and 1-2 other nights of 5 hours each.
All applicants must have a valid driver's license and be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Additional requirements are as follows:
- High school diploma with related experience or training
- PC skills including word processing, excel
- Requires basic mathematical skills and the ability to compute and interpret data.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, subscribers, coworkers and the public.
- Requires attention to detail accuracy and self motivation.
