Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Low-Code Developer with a strong foundation in backend development to join our dynamic team at Lean Tech. The primary purpose of this role is to design, develop, and optimize applications using Retool, alongside robust SQL and API integrations, contributing significantly to the efficiency of our development process. This position requires proficiency in SQL, intermediate knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as Node.js and Express.js, and expertise in API development encompassing REST and GraphQL. The developer will play a pivotal role in enhancing cross-functional collaboration by working closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to implement effective solutions. As a vital contributor to our innovative team, the ability to adapt to emerging low-code trends and tools is essential. This role presents unique opportunities to engage with cloud services like AWS and Google Cloud, further expanding your expertise in modern low-code application development. A familiarity with AI tools and API integrations, such as those offered by OpenAI, is beneficial to excel in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize applications using Retool and other low-code tools to enhance operational efficiency.
• Utilize advanced SQL skills to ensure efficient query performance, data modeling, and implementation of stored procedures.
• Develop custom scripts using JavaScript and backend frameworks such as Node.js and Express.js to extend low-code functionalities.
• Implement and maintain robust applications, focusing on best practices in security, scalability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers, to build effective low-code solutions.
• Stay current with trends in low-code automation and apply existing knowledge towards the creation of applications with Retool.

Required Skills & Experience

• Advanced proficiency in SQL, including query optimization, database modeling, and stored procedures.
• Intermediate experience with JavaScript, particularly with backend frameworks such as Node.js and Express.js.
• Proficiency in API development, including REST and GraphQL, as well as authentication methods like OAuth and JWT.
• Familiarity with frontend basics, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks such as React or Vue.js.
• General awareness of AI tools and API integrations, including platforms like OpenAI and ChatGPT APIs.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS and Google Cloud, with a focus on backend infrastructure.
• Intermediate experience with low-code platforms, with a preference for prior experience with Retool.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently in an agile environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience with Django as an additional backend framework.
• Knowledge of workflow automation and process modeling tools.
• Familiarity with third-party API integrations and webhooks.
• Background in cloud security practices, although specific standards like OWASP or SOC2 are not required.
• Understanding of AI tools and API integration beyond basic familiarity.
• Exposure to Azure cloud services for backend infrastructure.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
