Position Overview:
The Senior Logistics Strategy Analyst will play a critical role in optimizing inbound logistics and driving supply chain cost improvements. This position requires a deep understanding of supply chain processes, with a focus on freight conversion, optimization, and forecasting. The Senior Analyst will be responsible for analyzing data, providing strategic recommendations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have extensive operational experience and the ability to navigate complex supply chain challenges, particularly in optimizing freight management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Optimize Inbound Logistics: Analyze freight and vendor data daily to identify areas for cost improvement and operational performance.
- Provide Data-Driven Recommendations: Offer creative, data-based suggestions for optimizing lanes and routes, and share insights with stakeholders to drive operational efficiency.
- Manage Freight Information: Own and maintain freight information for assigned lanes and geographies, operating within logistics management applications (TMS, ArrowStream/Crossbow).
- Model Freight Solutions: Develop lane solutions that align with net freight income targets and service-level improvement goals for the inbound supply chain.
- Subject Matter Expert: Act as the go-to expert on logistics processes, systems, and workflows, particularly for reviewing and approving optimal route opportunities and freight conversion.
- Support Efficiency Improvements: Utilize financial, logistical, and procurement databases to assist in developing, analyzing, and modeling load-related supply chain efficiency improvements.
- Stakeholder Communication: Manage communications with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring smooth collaboration and issue resolution under limited guidance.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in logistics strategy or supply chain management.
- Experience in supply chain optimization and forecasting.
- Deep understanding of supply chain logistics, particularly in operational areas such as vendor relationships, vendor delivery, and freight management.
- Ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to drive operational results.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience with freight conversion and vendor freight rates and bracketing.
- Strong data analysis skills and experience with logistics management tools. (e.g TMS, ArrowStream, and Crossbow or others).
Nice to Have:
- Experience in demand planning or logistics in the transportation industry.
- Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Snowflake).
- Familiarity with Agile or Lean methodologies for managing supply chain projects.
- Certifications in supply chain management or logistics (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma).
