Position Title: Mid+/Senior Technical Writer (Mid+ / Senior)
Location: Remote - LATAM
What you will be doing:
As a Technical Writer at Lean Tech, you will be responsible for owning, structuring, and standardizing technical and operational documentation used across internal teams. This role is not focused on training delivery; instead, it centers on creating high-quality written documentation that supports software, IT, and operational processes. You will work closely with business, operations, and technical stakeholders to transform existing documentation into clear, well-structured, and easily consumable materials, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and long-term maintainability.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and coordinating the Technical Writing team, ensuring alignment on priorities, timelines, and deliverables
- Reviewing, rewriting, and standardizing technical and operational documentation produced by the team
- Establishing, maintaining, and enforcing documentation standards (structure, formatting, tone, verbosity) across all outputs
- Overseeing the creation and maintenance of process documentation, SOPs, manuals, and internal guides
- Managing the migration and organization of documentation into Office 365 and related knowledge repositories
- Ensuring documentation quality, consistency, and clarity for different internal audiences and levels of technical knowledge
- Driving knowledge governance initiatives to ensure documentation is structured, discoverable, and reusable
- Collaborating with business analysts, SMEs, and stakeholders to ensure accurate and complete documentation
- Providing guidance, feedback, and mentorship to technical writers to improve writing quality and efficiency
- Identifying gaps in documentation and proactively prioritizing improvements across teams and departments
- Monitoring documentation processes and continuously improving workflows, tools, and best practices
- Acting as the point of contact for documentation-related initiatives and cross-functional coordination
Requirements & Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- 3+ years of experience as a Technical Writer or in a documentation-focused role
- Strong experience documenting software, IT, or operational processes
- Solid understanding of software lifecycle concepts and technical processes (no coding required)
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with high attention to detail
- Proven ability to structure and format complex information clearly and concisely
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in Agile or structured environments
- Strong ability to understand technical concepts and translate them into clear documentation
- Advanced proficiency with documentation and productivity tools (e.g., Office 365)
Desired Skills (Good to have):
- Experience migrating or standardizing documentation repositories
- Familiarity with knowledge management or documentation governance practices
- Background documenting IT systems, software platforms, or enterprise processes
- Experience working with global or distributed teams
