What you will be doing:
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support accurate, efficient accounting and reporting for Compensation and Benefit programs. As a core member of the Compensation Accounting team, this role will own accounting activities for assigned payroll, bonus, and benefits programs, including month-end close, reconciliations, analysis, reporting, and ongoing process enhancements. This role will be primarily responsible for accounting activities supporting Mexico and Colombia and will support efforts to standardize and integrate LATAM processes into global practices.
This individual will play a critical role in improving process clarity, resolving payroll integration challenges, and enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of compensation-related activities.
Activities
Own monthly close and accounting activities for assigned compensation programs, including journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis across payroll, bonus, and benefits.
Manage accounting activities supporting Mexico and Colombia, including coordination with external accounting providers, preparation of monthly accounting support and reporting requirements, and investigation of trial balance variances.
Review payroll integration activity, assess compensation pay elements, and ensure appropriate mapping to general ledger accounts.
Analyze compensation-related account activity, identify and research variances, and prepare recommendations for resolution.
Document key processes, accounting decisions, and controls while contributing to improvements that enhance accuracy, efficiency, scalability, and process standardization.
Partner with internal teams and external providers to resolve questions, improve processes, and support accurate financial reporting.
Prepare recurring and ad hoc support and reports associated with year- end, audit, tax, and compliance requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or two additional years of relevant professional experience.
3-5 years of accounting experience supporting month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting; experience in payroll, bonus, or benefits, preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify variances, research issues, and develop practical accounting solutions.
Experience with payroll systems, integrations, or accounting data flows; ability to determine proper accounting treatment for compensation concepts are a plus.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to manage responsibilities independently, prioritize competing deadlines, and contribute effectively within a collaborative team environment.
Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (Oracle and/orWorkday preferred) and automation tools.
