We are seeking an IT Data Analyst – Foundational Data & Power BI to join a growing enterprise data team focused on building and maintaining the foundational datasets that power business insights. This role will focus on developing validated, scalable, and efficient data assets that support enterprise reporting and analytics. You will collaborate closely with data engineers, data entry specialists, and business stakeholders to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and alignment with the organization’s master data and gold-layer architecture within the Azure Data Lake ecosystem.
 
Position Title: IT Data Analyst Foundational Data & Power BI

Location: Remote

What you will be doing:
    • Design, develop, and optimize Power BI dashboards and reports used across the organization.
    • Partner with the data engineering team to define and validate foundational datasets within the Azure Data Lake (bronze/silver/gold layers).
    • Translate business requirements into robust data models using DAX, Power Query, and data modeling best practices (star/snowflake schemas).
    • Conduct data validation and quality assurance to ensure consistency and accuracy in all published reports.
    • Collaborate with business SMEs to capture requirements, validate data definitions, and align reporting logic with the enterprise data dictionary.
    • Support backlog management, sprint planning, and task documentation through Azure DevOps.
    • Maintain documentation for data sources, transformations, and visualization logic, ensuring transparency and reproducibility.
    • Assist with metadata alignment and support initiatives related to Master Data
    • Management (MDM) and future data governance implementations. 
    • Provide data insights and support ad-hoc analyses to enable informed decision-making across business units
    Requirements & Qualifications
    To excel in this role, you should possess:

    ● Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
    ● 2+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or reporting roles.
    ● Strong proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.
    ● Working knowledge of Azure Data Lake and modern data architecture concepts
    (bronze/silver/gold layers).
    ● Experience with Azure DevOps for documentation and sprint tracking.
    ● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a commitment to data accuracy.
    ● Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with both
    technical and non-technical teams.

    Nice to Have Skills

    ● Basic experience with SQL (T-SQL or ANSI SQL) for querying and data validation.
    ● Familiarity with enterprise systems such as SAP, Salesforce, AS400, and HTI —
    particularly in understanding data structures and extracting key insights.

    • Experience with data visualization process mapping tools (Miro, Visio, or Lucidchart).
    • Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, or MDM tools (e.g., Purview, Collibra).
    • Understanding of customer, vendor, or product master data modeling.
    • Interest in automation and scripting (e.g., Python) for data validation or API integration.
    • Exposure to Salesforce and SAP financial data domains (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit, and Master Data).
