Position Title: Junior Business Intelligence Engineer
Location: Remote - LATAM
What you will be doing:
You will support the BI team in building and maintaining dashboards, reports, and data models that help the business make informed decisions. This role is ideal for someone early in their BI career who is eager to learn, grow, and gain hands-on experience with Power BI, SQL, and data workflows.
- Assisting in the development and maintenance of Power BI dashboards using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
- Supporting basic data modeling tasks using star schema concepts and helping maintain clean, structured datasets.
- Preparing and transforming data using Power Query to extract information from Excel, Outlook, Salesforce, CRM platforms, and other sources.
- Helping write and optimize simple SQL queries for data extraction and reporting.
- Performing data validation to ensure accuracy and consistency in reports.
- Updating recurring reports and assisting with scheduled data refreshes.
- Supporting integration of data from multiple sources to create unified reporting views.
- Creating user-friendly visualizations under the guidance of senior team members.
- Participating in requirement-gathering sessions with internal teams to understand reporting needs.
- Documenting processes, report logic, and data flows.
- Conducting initial data analysis to identify trends, issues, or opportunities that support business operations.
Requirements & Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- 1–2 years of experience in Business Intelligence, data analysis, reporting, or related coursework/internships.
- Basic to intermediate experience with Power BI Desktop (building dashboards, using Power Query, creating simple DAX measures).
- Exposure to Salesforce, Outlook, or other operational systems.
- Foundational knowledge of SQL (joins, filters, basic calculations).
- Understanding of data modeling concepts such as fact and dimension tables.
- Ability to clean, transform, and organize data from spreadsheets or simple system exports.
- Willingness to learn how to work with multiple data sources (CRM, Excel, email-based data, etc.).
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail when validating or presenting data.
- Motivation to grow technical skills and take on more complex BI tasks over time.
Nice to Have:
- Basic understanding of QA/data validation processes.
- Familiarity with geographic or market analysis tools (e.g., Google Maps).
- Experience automating simple workflows in Excel, Power Query, or low-code tools.
- Knowledge of Python or interest in learning it for automation in the future.
