Position Title: Senior Engineer Manager
Location: LATAM

 

What you will be doing:
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Lead to lead a high-performing software engineering team responsible for building scalable, reliable, and customer-focused products. This role combines technical leadership, people management, agile delivery ownership, and cross-functional collaboration.
The ideal candidate is a servant leader who excels at empowering teams, fostering accountability, and creating predictable delivery outcomes while maintaining a strong technical foundation in modern software architecture, distributed systems, cloud technologies, and software development best practices.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers through coaching, feedback, and career growth initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of servant leadership, ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Support team members in taking on new responsibilities and expanding their technical and leadership capabilities.
  • Help establish and maintain a diverse and inclusive engineering organization.
  • Drive team predictability through effective Agile and SCRUM practices.
  • Facilitate Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-Ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Partner with Product and Design teams to prioritize work and ensure alignment between sprint commitments and business objectives.
  • Utilize agile metrics such as velocity, burndown charts, throughput, and capacity planning to forecast delivery and manage risks.
  • Remove blockers and enable teams to deliver consistently across changing priorities.
  • Promote Lean, Agile, and Kanban methodologies where appropriate.
  • Own significant portions of the product and influence both technical and product strategy.
  • Guide architecture and design decisions across distributed and cloud-native systems.
  • Advocate for engineering excellence, maintainability, scalability, and operational reliability.
  • Champion Continuous Improvement initiatives and technical modernization efforts.
  • Ensure adherence to software development best practices, coding standards, testing strategies, and architectural principles.
  • Support technical decision-making through collaboration and consensus-building across teams.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience developing and delivering software products and services.
  • Experience with C# or Java development and (.NET & Sprintboot) in each case. 
  • 3+ years of experience leading software engineering teams.
  • Proven experience implementing servant leadership principles and building high-performing teams.
  • Strong experience facilitating Agile/SCRUM ceremonies and driving predictable software delivery.
  • Demonstrated success using agile metrics to improve forecasting, transparency, and accountability.
  • Experience with distributed systems: design, caching, CQRS, message-driven and large-scale processing.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth technology environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Proficiency in cloud-based systems: hybrid on-prem, Lambdas, elastic scaling, resiliency.
  • Experienced in using JIRA, building dashboards, managing sprints, and using Jira plugins for data manipulation and observation.
  • Be Fluent in English and Portuguese.
