What you will be doing:
We are looking for a Data Engineer with strong Finance Accounting domain knowledge to
support initiatives related to Finance Accounting data and its reporting through our data lake
(databricks). This is an important requirement.
The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of accounting functions and concepts,
including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), Profit &
Loss (P&L), and related financial reporting processes.
This will be a business-facing role, requiring the ability to work closely with Finance
stakeholders, understand their data and reporting requirements, and translate those
requirements into effective data solutions.
Required Skills & Experience
BS degree in Computer Science or a related subject
3 years of experience in a Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, or similar role.
Strong Data Engineering experience
Good experience with General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts
Payable (AP), Profit & Loss (P&L), and related financial reporting processes.
Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python for data transformation and automation.
Experience working with PySpark.
Experience working with data lakes and reporting platforms
Experience working with Databricks or other data lake platforms.
Familiarity with the medallion architecture (bronze, silver, gold tiers).
Strong analytical mindset with experience in advanced analytics techniques.
Intermediate experience with ETL pipeline development and machine learning
operations.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Sigma Computing (preferred but not required).
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to Have Skills
Knowledge of AI and machine learning frameworks.
Experience with R is a plus.
Experience with data visualization tools (Qlik or similar tools)
Soft Skills
Collaborate seamlessly with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand
and address their analytical needs.
Problem-Solving: Utilize agile methodologies to identify complex issues and implement
effective solutions in a timely manner
