Position Title: Mid Data Engineer
Location: LATAM-Remote
What you will be doing:
This role serves as the developer of the enterprise data platform and business intelligence environment. The successful candidate will develop, build, and support Azure SQL databases, data integrations, ETL/ELT pipelines, and enterprise Power BI solutions while partnering with business leaders to deliver trusted, actionable information. The position combines database development, data engineering, data modeling, and Power BI leadership, including prioritizing reporting requests, governing enterprise datasets, and supporting day-to-day reporting needs.
Be comfortable with Azure SQL data platform, including database development,
optimization, security, and support.
Develop ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, SSIS, Azure Functions, and
T-SQL.
Manage the Power BI reporting environment, including governance, workspace
organization, dataset management, refresh scheduling, and report lifecycle.
Manage day-to-day reporting requests, prioritize development work, and partner with
business stakeholders.
Develop reusable enterprise metrics and reporting standards.
Integrate ERP, HRIS, telematics, routing, fleet, and other business systems.
Support production Azure SQL Managed Instance and Azure VM environments.
Develop stored procedures, views, functions, and optimized SQL queries.
Maintain technical documentation.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
3+ years SQL Server database development.
3+ years of Azure SQL and Azure Data Factory.
2+ years with Power BI.
Hands-on experience on T-SQL, DAX, Power Query (M), and dimensional modeling.
Experience with Azure Functions and REST/SOAP APIs.
Experience with Python programming.
Exposure to production database environments.
Microsoft Fabric or Synapse.
SSAS/Tabular.
Power BI Service administration and deployment pipelines.
Data governance and master data management.
Transportation, logistics, or ERP integration experience
Soft Skills
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
