What you will be doing:

Works in conjunction with the internal and external support teams and shares responsibility for the monitoring, support, installation, configuration, database management, and operation of enterprise database platforms for the client. Works as part of the Technology Services Team to maintain all database related assets, applications, and services.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong SQL expertise is considered mandatory.

• 5+ years of experience with a data engineering background. 

• Deep understanding of data warehouse design and data modeling, ideally at an advanced level, with the ability to design solutions independently rather than relying heavily on senior guidance. 

• Ability to translate business requirements into technical implementations and code. Candidates must understand business logic and convert it into scalable data models.

• Experience with modern analytics engineering tooling:

• Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

• Dataform (or equivalent tools such as dbt)

• GitHub

• Orchestration platforms (Dexter was mentioned, but equivalent experience is acceptable)

• Understanding of the full software development lifecycle, including testing, validation, and proving that solutions meet business requirements without requiring extensive oversight.

• Ability to design high-performance pipelines and models that run efficiently and minimize compute consumption, which is particularly important in the supply-chain environment.

• Ability to gather information, ask questions, understand business processes, and clearly explain technical concepts.

• Comfortable engaging with business stakeholders and peers.

• Ability to articulate the rationale behind design decisions and technical trade-offs, not just deliver working code.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate, diagram and document complex engineering concepts.
