Lead Data Engineer
We are looking for a go-getter willing to take on any challenge as a Lead Data Engineer who also wants to help drive our continued success as an organization growing organically and through acquisitions. You will use your data engineering and analytics expertise to drive continued improvement in data sourcing, data cleansing, data normalization, and data analysis to deliver meaningful insights to the Executive Team and Board of Directors at LeadVenture.
Here is more of what you'll get to do:
- Help lead the design and implementation of business data systems and pipelines to source data for critical data requirements.
- Focus on understanding core business logic and its application in transforming business data structures using SQL, Python, R to normalize for analysis.
- Make recommendations on critical data pipeline & infrastructure decisions to streamline sourcing, transformation, storage, and delivery of data to LeadVenture Executives.
- Partner cross-functionally with the Executive team and their organizations to understand and meet business needs, establishing yourself as a trusted advisor to operational and executive stakeholders.
- Streamline and refactor existing business logic to enhance code modularity and readability to ensure the most streamlined operational delivery of information to Executives.
- Adapt data pipelines and business logic to respond to evolving business contexts.
- Collaborate with IT to design and implement a data governance & security strategy.
- Support and align with financial reporting processes & cadences.
- Provide technical thought leadership in a collaborative team environment, using data and software solutions to deliver timely and relevant information for decision-making.
You will thrive in this role if you have:
- Bachelor's Degree (required)
- 8 years or more of relevant experience
- Experience in Python, AWS technologies (S3, Athena, Glue), and Git
- Advanced Excel skills, SQL, Power BI, Python, Tableau, or other reporting and analytical solutions working with data and analytics/reporting.
- Ability to reason through code/business logic to reach desired analytics in reporting.
- Ability to help build consensus and drive decision-making with stakeholders through technical thought leadership.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and challenging working environment.
- Strong analytic drive, focusing on the details without missing the big picture.
- Extremely organized, detail-oriented, and mindful of deadlines
- Experience working with orchestration tools like Apache Airflow is a plus.
