About the Role:

An SEO Team Lead is characterized by constant proactivity, thoroughness, helpfulness, and reliability in SEO work and as a leader.

 

An SEO Team Lead is expected to maintain a working knowledge of current industry best practices, analytics knowledge, and outstanding communication and organizational skills.

 

An SEO Team Lead will be responsible for being a resource to educate and train SEO Specialists. They will take ownership of communicating with at-risk clients, help develop new department processes, conduct training, and perform administrative tasks. They report directly to the Director of SEO who will help them continue to progress their skills and the team as a whole.

 

An SEO Team Lead may additionally be responsible for managing a small but high maintenance SEO client load. They will effectively manage clients expectations, requests, and consult on best strategies and practices. This will additionally, enable the Team Lead to assist in iterating fulfillment practices to improve efficiency.

  • Responsible for delivery of customer services and performance of team members.
  • Continued SEO, marketing, and customer care training of team.
  • Goal setting and monthly deadlines completion.
  • Coach team members and address performance issues if/when they arise.
  • Run daily stand-up meetings.
  • Provide team member spot checks, one-on-ones, and training.
  • Implement new SEO practices, creating documentation, implement operational readiness for new SEO services.
  • Problem solve to resolve customer escalations.
  • Project manage new SEO team initiatives.
  • Cross-functional collaboration to resolve complex problems.
  • Employee timecard management.

  • Apparent interest in SEO and investment in the continual improvement of the SEO department 
  • Experience planning and executing SEO strategies including conducting keyword research, tracking, and reporting.
  • Ability to hold direct reports and team members accountable
  • Ability to think creatively and critically to identify and resolve complex problems autonomously and propose solutions when autonomy is not possible
  • Ability to delegate clearly and effectively
  • Proven ability to accurately assess oneself and others performance
  • Willingness and interest in assisting others to learn and be successful
  • Minimum 1 year experience leading/managing a team.
