Primary Role: Lead the production team of approximately 40 employees at a Fiberglass pool plant. Manage the daily production including safety, quality and output for the facility. Support a strong employee culture through the reinforcement of Latham’s Core Values.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow company safety policies and programs to promote a safety-first culture throughout the facility
- Lead production team of ~40 employees, across multiple departments
- Maintain high level of quality throughout the manufacturing process
- Follow training and cross training program and implement for production staff
- Responsible for production, meeting daily schedule to insure on time delivery while minimizing overtime
- Maintain a high level of quality by ensuring regular inspections of products
- Utilize lean manufacturing principles to identify efficiency issues and suggest improvements to solve the problems.
- Submit reports on performance and progress to plant manager
- Communicate job expectations, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees
- Facilitate daily production meetings
- Collaborate on production scheduling, resource allocation, promotions and other activities across the site
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum of HS Diploma with experience; Management or Technical college degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in manufacturing/engineering related function
- Lean Manufacturing or 5S experience desired
- Computer and keyboarding skills -Excel, Databases, and Word Processing
- Experience with payroll systems is a plus
- Must be able to work overtime when necessary including extended hours or weekends
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal
- Good understanding of safety, quality, productivity, inventory, employee relations
- Regularly required to talk or hear, frequently required to stand; walk; bend; use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms, prolonged sitting, repetitive computer use, ability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly
