Primary Role:

Ensure the successful production actives of a department.  Manage the daily production related to KPI’s for the department.  Support a strong employee culture through the reinforcement of Latham’s Core Values.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise operations to ensure positive labor efficiency and variance through proper usage of personnel

  • Follow company safety policies and programs to promote a safety-first culture throughout the facility

  • Maintain high level of quality throughout the manufacturing process

  • Follow training and cross training program and implement for production staff

  • Responsible for production, meeting daily schedule to insure on time delivery while minimizing overtime

  • Maintain a high level of quality by doing regular inspections of products

  • Utilize lean manufacturing principles to identify efficiency issues and suggest improvements to solve the problems.

  • Submit reports on performance and progress to direct manager

  • Communicate job expectations, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees

  • Facilitate daily shift meetings

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of HS Diploma with experience; Management or Technical college degree preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing/engineering related function

  • Computer and keyboarding skills -Excel, Databases, and Word Processing

  • Experience with payroll systems is a plus

  • Ability to read blueprints

  • Must be able to work overtime when necessary, including extended hours or weekends

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal

  • Lean Manufacturing or 5S experience desired

  • Good understanding of safety, quality, productivity, inventory, employee relations

  • Regularly required to talk or hear, frequently required to stand; walk; bend; use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms, prolonged sitting, repetitive computer use, ability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly
