Product Manager-Fiberglass
Description
Primary Role: The Product Manager is responsible for working with the Product Director to execute product line initiatives throughout the product lifecycle, including: gathering product and customer requirements, maintaining product master files, evaluating product and pricing changes in the market, and promoting the product line.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Product Director to gather business intelligence, build workflows and execute strategic initiatives inclusive of the 4Ps’s: Product, Pricing, Promotion and Placement.
- Maintain product master files including accurate list prices, part descriptions, B2B files, etc.
- Work on quarterly/annual product line reviews. Participate in Model line SKU rationalization, including improving SKU mix profitability and reduction of obsolete SKUs (OBS).
- Work with various departments including Purchasing, Planning/Scheduling, and others to develop vendors and alternative sources of supply.
- Build competitive analytics for the business to respond to market conditions and maintain our competitive advantage.
- Leverage Sales and Marketing tools and reporting to identify trends and support the business needs relative to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Sales, Operations, Customer Service and Design.
- Travel with Territory Sales Managers (TSMs) to secure new customers and gain first-hand feedback from users.
- Support Project Management Organization (PMO) product line and productivity improvement projects.
- Engage in New Product Development (NPD) and Product Line Extension initiatives to support product profitability and new business growth.
- Execute pricing initiatives including price sheets, training, and communication.
- Manage product marketing pieces (catalog/brochure/manuals) used for point of sale, training, and communication for all target audiences - employee, dealer & consumer-facing.
- Provide quality and technical support to customers, Customer Service, Operations and Sales.
- Build product line acumen to be regarded as a subject matter expert regarding the product line.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years in marketing and/or product management experience in manufacturing industry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Technical background with experience working with field engineers, manufacturing engineers and product engineers
- Excellent teamwork and project management skills
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
- Strong PC skills and excellence in MS office suite of products
- Ability to meet work and project deadlines in a timely fashion with high quality output
- Travel requirements: Approximately 15% of the time with overnights
Salary range for this position is $80,000-$120,000
