Primary Role: The primary responsibility of the Territory Sales Manager (TSM) role is the successful onboarding and nurturing of new Latham Fiberglass (FG) Pool Dealers and growth of existing FG Dealer’s purchase volumes in the assigned territory.  The role is accountable for ensuring year-over-year growth of 2x for a minimum of three years after becoming a Latham FG dealer.  The TSM continuously works to improve Latham’s market (share) position through the implementation of organizational strategic goals, building strong customer relationships, assuring successful adoption of all Sales & Marketing programs and delivering unparalleled support to Latham FG Dealers.  

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Core Functions
• Promote/sell/secure orders from existing and prospective customers through a hands on relationship based approach.
• Partner with customers to understand their needs and objectives.
• A focus on acquisition of large retail accounts in assigned territory.
• Sales support of mass and independent accounts in assigned territory.
• Expand footprint of required sales campaigns in assigned territory.
• Demonstrate products and services to existing/potential customers and assist them in selecting those best suited to their needs.
• Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
• Effectively communicate our value proposition through proposals and presentations.
• Increase our customer contact with retailers in the territory.

Details of Functions:

1. Serve as a contact for all Accounts in assigned territory:
• assist with the execution and development of regional account programs
• communicate policy changes, product availability, opportunity buys to key accounts and sales representatives
• gather competitive information with attention to national account programs

2. Provide detailed evaluation of key accounts and help set goals/expectations for reps and key accounts in assigned territory:
• increase our customer contact and implement team selling approach
• track account performance and use this information to set goals and expectations

3. Product Knowledge and Training:
• work to improve customer product knowledge skills and understanding of programs
• assist with product knowledge training for key accounts

4. Other duties as assigned which may include:
• attending trade shows as required
• developing sales reports for key accounts

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business/marketing and a minimum of 3+ years of successful sales and/or marketing experience preferred; Associate’s degree or equivalent may be substituted with commensurate experience. 
  • A proven track record of effective Business Development, Networking, Public Speaking, Research, Territory Management, Training and Motivation Skills, Meeting Sales Goals, Professionalism, Reading and Writing Sales Plans and Financial Reports.   
  • Strong technical acumen/experience required.  
  • Exceptional communication and presentation/training skills.  
  • Travel Requirements: Approximately 70% of the time with overnights; previous overnight travel experience (50% minimum) a plus.
